Project Simplify, Week 1: KIDS STUFF

so this is the first week of project simplify, and the assigned location was kids toys and / or/ clothes, and i had plenty of this category to pick from. i decided to tackle our sunroom, aka playroom, which has had no organization since we moved into our home roughly 8 months ago. good times.

so the above picture is looking into the sunroom. chaos.

the above pic is to the left of the first one, the long view into the room. the end of the room is lined with shelves, which is theoretically fantastic, unless you just stash junk on it.

yes, that is two huge laugh and learn plastic kitchen/ home things taking up real estate on the floor

stuff organized pic #1
major point here is a significant toy reduction and stuffed animal purge.

After-pic #2
yes, those shells and sponges are from the Bahamas! :) art supplies now organized and again, major toy purge. good books get to stay though :)

the last shelf, family games/ movies/ cd's and a few toys on the bottom. still needs more work but they, from what it was, this is a miracle!

this used to have an insane amount of small, easily dispersed toys in it. a severe headache for mom and quickly uninteresting to my daughter. got rid of 75% of the toys and whala, problem solved!

this pic is the table that i never wanted which still needs to GO, heavy laden with 4 boxes of "to sell" toys, and the blue bins in front are my initial attempt at toy rotation. :)

thanks to Tsh and her great blog , Simple Mom, for the inspiration and motivation. of course her book didnt hurt either :)

beginnings are a beautiful thing

ahh the memory fades fast. which is why i've decided our family needs a blog. there are so many special things in life that you think will be cemented in your mind forever. but, days, weeks go by, and it doesn't take much to forget. so i think i will be trying to do some blogging retroactivly, from the beginning of seth and i, and see how that goes. wish me luck.

PS this picture is of me when i met seth, back when i was still in nursing school at the University of North Dakota. i was on my way to clinicals and had to take a pic via web cam for seth
